  • Reduce your ecological footprint!

    What is the ecological footprint?

The ecological footprint is an indicator for measuring human impact on the environment. It measures the amount of raw materials consumed and the amount of greenhouse gasses generated and released into the atmosphere. We can also make an estimation of the land area needed to meet our needs. Therefore, how and why should you reduce your ecological footprint?

    Why reduce your ecological footprint?

It is important to reduce our ecological footprint because the greenhouse gasses generated by our consumption (CO2, methane…) are responsible for climate change which threatens biodiversity.

    How to reduce it?

There are simple things you can do on a daily basis to reduce your environmental impact. For example, you can:

    • Stop buying plastic bottles and use your own reusable water bottle
    • Prefer shopping in bulk
    • Buy local and seasonal products
    • Use solid cosmetics to limit plastic packaging
    • Always remember to take a reusable bag when you go somewhere (when you go shopping, for example!)
    • Buy second-hand products (books, clothes, furniture…)
    • Prefer to travel by bike or public transport
    • Use recycled paper
    • Say no to paper advertising
    • Use a reusable coffee filter
